Linux Multimedia Codec Engineer

Job Role: Linux Multimedia Codec Engineer

Experience: 5 to 10 Years

Location: Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain multimedia codec applications and middleware components
• Implement new features and enhancements in Linux-based multimedia pipelines
• Perform driver integration and ensure seamless interaction with Linux kernel components
• Debug, analyze, and resolve complex system-level and multimedia issues
• Optimize performance of video decoding/encoding pipelines
• Conduct unit testing and ensure high-quality deliverables
• Work closely with cross-functional teams for system integration and validation
• Use debugging and tracing tools for root cause analysis

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming
• Extensive experience in Embedded Linux user-space development
• Hands-on experience with Linux multimedia frameworks and pipelines
• Strong knowledge of video codecs: H.264, HEVC, VP9
• Experience with Linux V4L2 (Video4Linux2) framework
• Good understanding of Linux system programming: threads, system calls, synchronization, serialization
• Strong debugging skills using tools like GDB, KDB, Trace tools
• Experience in Linux driver interaction and multimedia integration
