Technical Lead - Defect Management

Position: Technical Lead - Defect Management

Experience: 7 to 12 Years

Location: Bangalore / Pune

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end defect triaging, tracking, and closure.
• Perform first-level and deep technical analysis of defects related to BSP, Linux Kernel, Hypervisor, Bootloader, and platform software.
• Analyze crash dumps, core/RAM dumps, DLT, console, MCU, and logcat logs.
• Identify probable root causes and assign defects to the appropriate engineering teams.
• Track defects using Jira and maintain dashboards, priorities, ownership, and status.
• Coordinate with development, validation, integration, platform, and customer teams.
• Participate in defect reviews, CCB discussions, technical sync-ups, and customer meetings.
• Track aging, blocked, reopened, and fixed defects and provide status updates.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of BSP, Linux Kernel, Bootloader, Hypervisor, and embedded platform software.
• Understanding of embedded Linux/Android architecture, kernel internals, device drivers, memory management, and boot sequence.
• Hands-on experience with U-Boot, secure boot, boot debugging, and platform bring-up.
• Experience in defect analysis involving board bring-up, drivers, power management, peripherals, device tree, and system integration.
• Proficiency with DLT Viewer, GDB, JTAG, Lauterbach/TRACE32, logcat, serial console, crash/core/RAM dumps.
• Working knowledge of Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
• Exposure to Linux, Android Automotive, QNX, and Hypervisor-based automotive platforms.
