We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Linux Device Driver Developer to join our dynamic engineering team in Bangalore. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work on advanced consumer SoC platforms within a leading semiconductor organization, driving innovation in Linux-based device driver development. • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain Linux device drivers for a variety of hardware interfaces including PCIe, USB, Ethernet, Display, Camera, Storage, and Multimedia.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, BSP, firmware, and platform teams to interpret hardware specifications and deliver robust, production-quality software solutions.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex issues within the Linux kernel and device driver layers, ensuring stability and performance.
• Interpret and utilize board schematics, hardware specifications, and technical documentation to drive accurate software implementation.
• Develop and debug drivers tailored for ARM and RISC-V processor architectures, understanding critical hardware-software interactions.
• Lead and participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions to uphold development best practices and technical excellence.
• Employ hardware/software debugging tools such as JTAG, signal analyzers, and other instrumentation to validate and troubleshoot device drivers.
• Utilize Git, Yocto, and other Linux platform development tools for source control, build, and integration processes.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10–14 years of industry experience in Linux device driver development, kernel programming, BSP, or related embedded software domains.
• Strong proficiency in C programming with hands-on experience in developing and debugging Linux device drivers.
• Comprehensive understanding of Linux Kernel Architecture, Linux Internals, and embedded system software stacks.
• Experience working with ARM and/or RISC-V processor architectures and familiarity with hardware-software integration.
• Ability to read and interpret complex board schematics, hardware specifications, and technical documentation.
• Proven experience with Yocto Project for embedded Linux build systems and proficient use of Git for version control.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills utilizing hardware debugging tools such as JTAG and signal analyzers.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to independently drive technical tasks, take ownership, and deliver results in demanding engineering projects.
• Experience in Board Support Package (BSP) development and board bring-up activities.
• Familiarity with Bootloader/U-Boot development and customization.
• Contributions to Linux kernel code upstreaming or active participation in open-source communities.
• Prior exposure to semiconductor SoC or platform software development, with hands-on experience on interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, Display, Camera, Storage, or Multimedia.
