Join our dynamic team as a Staff/Principal Engineer specializing in Vehicle Compute & Networking Architecture, where you will architect and drive cutting-edge platforms that bridge autonomy software with embedded vehicle hardware. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of high-performance, scalable networking systems and embedded software within the automotive domain. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of vehicle connectivity and safety through innovative hardware-software integration and system optimization.
• Architect and lead the design of vehicle compute and networking platforms that integrate autonomy software with embedded hardware components.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain high-performance C++ software on Linux systems, including kernel-level tuning, performance profiling, and hardware bring-up activities.
• Design and implement hardware health monitoring, diagnostics, power-on self-test (POST), built-in self-test (BIST), fault detection, and safe-state mechanisms across vehicle ECUs.
• Define and execute communication monitoring strategies for CAN and Ethernet networks, addressing link integrity, cable diagnostics, signal quality, and communication error detection.
• Lead the integration of sensors and embedded devices through low-latency data interfaces and scalable network architectures to support real-time data processing.
• Establish and enforce standards for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, automated performance profiling, comprehensive system validation, and fleet-level health monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning application software, Linux kernel, device drivers, networking stacks, and embedded hardware layers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers across software, hardware, and systems teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and innovation.
• Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in software or system engineering with a focus on architecture at the hardware-software interface.
• Expert proficiency in C++ (11/14/17/20) development for high-performance, thread-safe Linux environments.
• Extensive experience with Linux networking, including TCP/UDP protocols, and embedded hardware bring-up processes.
• Demonstrated skills in performance optimization, system profiling, and low-level system debugging.
• Hands-on knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, and communication protocols such as gRPC, RTP, and HTTP.
• Deep understanding of the Linux kernel, device driver development, and embedded hardware/software integration challenges.
• Proven experience leading system architecture efforts and managing cross-functional technical teams.
• Experience with automotive sensor technologies such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras integration.
• Familiarity with networking standards and protocols including PTP/gPTP, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and Ethernet switching.
• Exposure to ISO 26262 standards and functional safety methodologies within automotive systems.
• Background in CPU/GPU/accelerator optimization and experience with distributed fleet health monitoring solutions.
